Robo-Robo

        Robo-robo is one of the events that held by Mempawah Kingdom and Pontianak Goverment Regency. This event held to commemorate the journey of Opu Daeng Manambon from Natan Kingdom to Mempawah Kingdom.

        Robo-robo began when Opu Daeng Manambon and Princess Kesumba came to Mempawah in order to authority from Penembahan Putri Cermin to Putri Kesumba who get title Queen Agung Sinuhun with her husband.

        People who lived there, believe that in safar month the god cause many disaster and at the other side a few people think that safar month is a "lucky month". Because there is an important event called robo-robo.

        Robo-robo procession start by eating saprahan at Amantubillah Castle. After eating, group of Mempawah Emperor, Prince, Queen Mulawangsa go by car from the Castle to beteng village.

        Robo-robo takes place in many place in Mempawah city, such as in Mempawah river, in Kuala Mempawah village, Amantubillah palace and in around of the Kings of Mempawah Kingdom's graveyard.
